empty thoughts
yesterday, lot, kuya lon, cj, berna and i went to UP's Women Center to research some stuff for social legislation. it wasn't entirely fruitless, neither was it entirely fruitful.
i've read anya's blog entry about the quarter-life crisis. it was really enlightening since all of us right now are undergoing this stage when college life seemed to be the height of living, and that everybody's major problem is money.
i got a triple jeopardy today. first, atty. palacios asked me some questions concerning the code of commerce, which everybody knows is already repealed, and is useless. thanks to aimee and lot for giving me some cheats. damn, he was asking questions like 20 articles away from that which we studied....
and speaking of far away... judge aguinaldo's mind frequency seems to get farther and farther. and so is our lessons. he advanced again another 10 provisions regarding the damn commission agent, responsibilities, blahblahblah. after he left class, nobody even bothered to talk. it was implied. he was out of this world again. PAGING JUDGE AGUINALDO!!! You are needed in the RTC of Muntinlupa!!! Not on planet Mars!!! You're line of questioning is mind-boggling... not that we are unused to mind-boggling legal problems... but yours are beyond the comprehension of 'normal' law students who still maintain their sanity, unwarranting any act which would necessitate a declaration to the contrary.
third, i was the second person called by madam javier... and boy oh boy... why did i have to get to answer those damn local government code provisions on penalties for failure to assess, intentionally and willfully not assessing, delaying in assessment, any public officer or relative thereof within third (at this point, she corrected me... FOURTH) degree of consangunity or affinity, may not directly or indirectly enter into contracts, or have any pecuniary interest with any transaction underwhich said official is supervising, or has a pending transaction with such person, for procurement of supplies, contstruction, blahblahblahblah... and election offenses for fucking public officer who fucking coerce, intimidate, force, compel their subordinates to vote for this, vote for that, do this, do that. Hell! my blood pressure rose. and so did my body temperature. i could feel the sanguine liquid seeping out of my ears and nostrils. but alas. she finally gave up on me. how i wish she could have asked me things which i really knew at that exact point of time. But hey, that's life in law school. Survival is premised only on three things, to wit: 1. study hard; 2. pray; and 3. A LOT OF LUCK.
good things, i wasn't called by judge herrera to recite on RULE 39. the longest so far, which should have it's own two unit course... else, i would have accomplished the impossible... a QUADRUPLE JEOPARDY.
thinking back, atty bolivar once said that as students, we study hard, but we pray not to be called. he spoke like it came from the mouth of babes. true. but that's the life of a law student.
after a few months, we've learned, more or less, to love our professors... there's a name for that... STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. i've already seen the good side (the smiling side) of judge javier. she's not the mater terrebilitae that she is always portrayed by exaggerating ex-students. but the legend will live on... and as a matter of fact (this is indeed true!), she has NEVER repeated wearing the same attire. Long Live! Her Imperial Majesty, Amy Javier, Queen of the Office of the Solicitor General.
i'm really looking forward for saturday... but not sunday... ('coz 'm compelled to study again.) by the time i get home, i'd be watching one tree hill, have some ice cold beer, relax and watch some rented movies. Nothing could be better than my saturday night (except sabado nights out.)
i really miss our sunday club... about two years ago (??) we would be drinking every sunday night 'till early morning... me, kaye, dennis, sunny, and sometimes with kuya larry or tito robert. hahaha. i miss drinking with tito robert. patayan ang laban!!!
more recently (about a few months back) the other drinking club of mine. the larry cayco group... mostly BAtch 97 people. that's why i'm an honorary member.
it's eleven o'clock. it's been a tiring and busy day for the law student. it's time to snore and drool on the sheets.
